First Day In Studio. 1/11/16

1/11/16
The first day in the studio, we familiarised ourselves with all elements of TV Production. From
the control room, sound desk  to directors chair and the physical Set, of 3 camera set up, green screen and TV Monitor.

The Control Room:
Lighting desk - Turn up/down lights. Add lighting to suit shots.
Sound Desk - To combat between added music on vision mixer desk and added sound FX
Sound FX - Placed next to sound mixer, add sound fx to certain parts of programme would follow camera script.
Vision mixer - Sit with director and multiple assistants to switch cameras and VT.
Director - On call to the 'Floor manager' directing them what they want to happen for the production as well as camera men who have headsets on.
Producers - (Depending on size of production) Would be with director making sure all goes to plan

I began in the Control room on sound listening to the action on set from the mics of the presenters,  the setup was a touch screen with various sound Fx's to bring an aspect of reality into the programme. The group who were on set decided to do a 'Chat show' for a short role play, I used various sounds such as applause when introducing guests and at the end as well as explosion sounds when confrontations happened to add a comedic element.

Each side was 15 minutes my next role was Floor Manager, I was equiped with a headset and mic to speak to the director in the control room, they would give me direction to assist the camera men and all action on the production. Camera operators would have headsets on but are unable to speak back so would need to query with Floor manager.

On Set:
Camera Operator - Film the shots from Directors request and liaison with floor manager
Sound - Sound would be on hand with mics to capture sound from set eg off audience or presenters
Floor Manager - Responsible for the running of set, respond to director's calls for action
Gaffer - Lighting crew who are on set to change or replace lights.
Actors/Presenters - Follow direction of floor manager, read auto cue and also listen to producers and director.

TV PreProduction: Social Challenge

31/10/16
We were put into groups of half the class and then began looking at the Brief to assign roles to each member of the team. Our show is Social Challenge, a gameshow using ipads and social media to create 10 second story clips and have game show style rounds.
Sourced from Keeley’s Blogger
'My idea is to use social media to create a game show, there will be two teams of three and each team will compete to create funny and creative images and videos using social sites such as snapchat, tumblr and music.ly. the ages will range from 15-25 and the watershed will be from 9:30pm.'

My role is Productions Design so I will need to produce a design and prop list for Task 1 pre production.
